Heat Smarter. Control Better. Perform Reliably.
Refiny’s EMF‑i technology transforms electrical energy into fast, precisely controlled process heat through electromagnetic induction.
From instant steam generation and hot-air systems to surface, fluid and process-gas heating, EMF‑i solutions are engineered around the temperature, capacity and operating requirements of your application.
What Is EMF‑i Technology?
Heat Generated Where It Is Needed
Conventional heating systems first heat an element, which then transfers energy to the process. EMF‑i uses a high-frequency electromagnetic field to generate heat directly within a compatible metallic heating body.
This makes EMF‑i suitable for industrial applications that demand:
✔ Rapid heat‑up
✔ Accurate temperature regulation
✔ Variable heat output
✔ Consistent process conditions
✔ Automated operation
✔ Compact, modular installation
HOW EMF-I WORKS
1. Power Conversion
Incoming AC power is converted and electronically controlled by the EMF‑i power unit.
2. High-Frequency Energy
The system produces a controlled high-frequency alternating current.
3. Electromagnetic Field
Current passing through the engineered induction coil creates an alternating electromagnetic field.
4. Direct Heat Generation
The field induces electrical currents within a compatible metal heating body, generating heat directly inside the material.
5. Intelligent Process Control
Temperature, pressure, flow and other process parameters can be monitored and regulated through sensors, PLC logic and HMI controls.
Why EMF‑i?
Designed for Responsive and Intelligent Heating
Intelligence Behind the Heat
EMF‑i systems can combine temperature, pressure, level, flow and equipment-status signals within a coordinated control architecture.
PLC logic regulates heating output, manages operating sequences and responds to abnormal process conditions.
HMI interfaces provide operators with clear access to setpoints, operating values, alarms and system status.
Depending on the application, control options may include:
➤ Automatic start‑up and shutdown
➤ Recipe or time‑based operation
➤ Multi‑zone temperature management
➤ Variable power control
➤ Alarm history and fault indication
➤ Communication with compatible plant‑control systems
➤ Centralised coordination of multiple EMF‑i units

EMF‑i for Reactors, Vessels and Drums
Application-Engineered Heating for Complex Process Equipment
Reactors, vessels and rotary equipment vary significantly in geometry, material, contents and operating conditions. Refiny configures the EMF‑i heating architecture around the actual heat-transfer requirement instead of applying one standard arrangement to every installation.
Depending on the equipment and process, heating may be applied directly to a compatible metallic surface or indirectly through steam or a circulating thermal fluid.
Direct Surface Heating
Application-engineered induction coils generate heat within compatible metallic reactor walls, vessel surfaces, pipes or drums. This configuration can provide rapid response and zoned temperature control where the equipment material and geometry are suitable.
Steam-Jacket Heating
An EMF‑i steam generator supplies controlled steam to a compatible jacketed vessel. This approach distributes heat through the vessel jacket and may be suitable for processes requiring indirect, uniform heating.
Thermic-Oil Heating
An induction-heated circulation core transfers energy to a compatible heat-transfer fluid, which carries heat through the jacket or external circuit. This arrangement may be appropriate for processes requiring indirect heating at elevated temperatures.
Rotary Drum Heating
Induction coils and mechanical supports can be configured around compatible rotary drums or cylindrical heating bodies. The design considers rotation, coil clearance, thermal expansion, insulation and the required heating profile.
